What issues do you help with?
I work with many clients from all walks of life. These are some issues that I often work with in practice.
-
Anxiety- This can manifest in various forms such as social anxiety, relationship anxiety, workplace anxiety, and Existential anxiety.
-
Depression- This can come with feelings of dread and meaninglessness, or low motivation and self-esteem.
-
Life Transitions- Transitioning through different life stages, phases, and identities and bring up challenges (e.g. parenthood, losses, career changes)
-
Dilemmas- Being faced with a number of possibilities and not knowing what to do, or feeling particularly stuck in one place.
What can I expect from therapy?
You can expect
-
A relationship where you can be fully honest and heard.
-
To be supported and empathised with, and also challenged.
-
A sounding board for your thoughts, feelings, and ideas
-
To gain new insights and perspectives about yourself and your unique situation.
What types of therapy do you provide?
I draw from two main forms of therapy- Existential and Psychodynamic
Existential Therapy is a philosophically-informed approach to psychotherapy. Rather than being deterministic, the existential approach considers that people have the capacity to change and to create themselves as they exist. Themes of freedom and responsibility, meaning and mortality are often explored.
Psychodynamic Therapy explores how your earlier experiences and past relationships influence you current behavioral patterns and emotions.
